Airbourne

Airbourne is the biggest FREE airshow on the south coast where you can enjoy four days of action packed flying on Eastbourne seafront.

Airbourne 2006 runs from Thursday 17th August to Sunday 20th August.

As well as the world-famous Red Arrows see flying displays from:

• the RAF (Royal Air Force)
• other international military Air Forces
• non-military aircraft
• helicopters

There is also a wide variety of ground displays, entertainment, other attractions, trade stalls and caterers.

A Guide to Major Events

• Magnificent Motors:
  500 vintage and classic cars, motorbikes, buses, steam traction engines, commercial and military vehicles displayed on the seafront
• International Tennis Ladies Championships sponsored by Hastings Direct
• Eastbourne Extreme:
  Inline and Artistic skating and Waterborne Activities.
• Eastbourne Lammas Festival:
  A two-day extravaganza of folk music and morris dancing including a Carnival parade with traditional Giants
• Eastbourne Victorian Festival:
  A week of events with groups, organisations, schools and individuals celebrating the Eastbourne of Victorian times
• Eastbourne Beer Festival:
  Beers, Ales, Wine and Ciders from around the world with food tastings and daily entertainment
• Beachy Head Marathon:
  1,500 runners, joggers and walkers participate in this challenging event

Filming 

Eastbourne is one of the most sought after filming locations in the South East. Our classic Victorian seafront, spectacular white chalk cliffs and beautiful downland are regularly in demand for filming shoots. Our Film Liaison Unit makes it easy for location managers to film here.

In 2005, Eastbourne was not only the chosen setting for several feature films and scenes from TV's Little Britain, but also as the backdrop for numerous adverts, pop videos and stills photography for a wide variety of magazines.
